With a six-day bowling schedule, the Wabash Cannonbowl has become a second home for me. Sporting shades like superstar bowler Pete Weber, I shoot a spare with my Brunswick T-Zone Scarlet Shadow. Lighting in the alley is difficult; some heavy denoising and lighting edits were made in Lightroom Classic to accommodate. Shot at ISO-3200, shutter speed 1/125 and a f/4.5.
My editor-in-chief production nights adventures are capped-off with a late-night stroll across campus. Leaving the building, I’m always double checking my bags to make sure I didn’t leave anything and don’t need to make a trip back. Shot at ISO-200, ¼ and f/4.
One of my favorite alone activities is late night driving. Less traffic, less light, just you, the stereo and the open road. I used a slower shutter speed at 2” to mimic the dancing I do behind the wheel while cranking up the jukebox. Shot at ISO-200 and f/5.
Something my previous multimedia editor Ben talked to me about while he was in Manhattan was how he went on late night walks just to see the stars because there is less light pollution here than his hometown of St. Louis. Most of us probably take the night sky in the more rural cities for granted, and I always think of him telling me that when I’m admiring space from below. Shot at 8” (to capture sky better), ISO-100 and f/3.5.
I have a nice at-home set-up for working, including a second monitor, keyboard and mouse, ring light, and a healthy dose of comfort. Dratini watches me from the ring light as I edit Collegian stories, work on personal videos, rot away watching YouTube and game. Shot at ISO-800, 1/25 and f/3.5.
